Is the rod removable so that you can use rod pocket panels?
The rod is not removable, but there is a spilt in the rod to add curtains. I use rod pocket panels and tab panels. I change them for the seasons. Sheer in the summer, and then solid for the winter.
What tools are needed to mount this?
We used a power screwdriver and added wall anchors. This piece is beautiful but heavy.
What kind of rail(s) does it have inside? An inside view in your product on your ad page would be nice
The rails are stationary.

I want to know if the curtains and the crown are together or separate?
The curtain and the crown are separate. Inside of the crown, you have a loop so you will be able to place your curtains.
is it for curtains only? Or can I just have it on my wall above my bed?
You could. It does look better with curtains.

How to Set it up?
Mounts to the wall with included hardware. Use it over a window or over a bed.
Open the hose in the middle of the rod, put the curtain on both side and then close the hose.
Open and Tie the curtains on both side.
